How It Came to Be
The idea for an event called "Celebrating Life & Health"
came from observing another event in Dayton Ohio sponsored
by the Beerman Foundation where free meals were provided
to anyone who wanted one on Thanksgiving.
The Levin family like the concept but saw an unrealized
opportunity to provide more value to the participants. They
envisioned providing free health testing with support
services for follow-up.
Board
member, Ryan
Levin, came up with the idea of providing a fun incentive
to get individuals to participate. Tickets were given
to each person for every health screening they participated
in. Each ticket would give them one chance to win
prizes donated by sponsors.

Our Measure of Success
The
idea worked! Over
1000 people attended the family oriented event the first
year. In 2007, the event grew to over 2200 participants
and growing every year.
- The average person received eight health screenings
valued at $300 in free diagnostic services
- Over 18,000 free tests were administered
in 2007
- The number of sponsors giving the health tests is
growing and the space allotted for their services is
expanding in 2008.
