2013 is the 11th anniversary of this wildly successful annual event.
The idea for an event called "Celebrating Life & Health"
came from observing another event in Dayton Ohio sponsored
by the Beerman Foundation where free meals were provided
to anyone who wanted one on Thanksgiving.
The Levin family like the concept but saw an unrealized
opportunity to provide more value to the participants. They
envisioned providing free health testing with support
services for follow-up.
Levin, came up with the idea of providing a fun incentive
to get individuals to participate. Event cards, given
to each person, were "punched" for every health screening they participated
in. Each punch would give them one chance to win
prizes donated by sponsors.
Our Measure of Success
idea worked! Over 1000 people attended
the family oriented event the first year. In 2009,
the event grew to over 5000 participants and continues
to grow each year.
The average person received
eight health screenings valued at $300 in free diagnostic
Over 25,000 free tests were
administered in 2009
The number of sponsors giving
the health tests is growing and the space allotted
for their services is expanding in 2013.
